Taxi fares from Corfu Airport to the villas
in the south west cost up to €50 (£40). A taxi can carry a maximum of 4 passengers (please don’t turn up with 5 plus luggage
and ask us to “squeeze you in” as this contravenes
the licensing laws and your driver would be subject to
prosecution if stopped). We can book a taxi for you, in
advance, if you provide us with your flight details (time of
arrival etc., exact flight number). We always use our old
friends, Haris, Kostas or Nikos, who:
will be there waiting for you on arrival (and will
check with the airport beforehand, to make sure your flight is
not delayed)
will not overcharge you (prices set by Greek
National Tourist Organisation)
speak English
know the way to the villas with their eyes shut!
will hand you the keys to the house, if a member of
the family can’t get to the airport to greet you in
person
will happily give you their business card so that
you can book them for your return to the airport on the day of
departure.
Alternatively, if you are thinking of
renting a car anyway, you could have it waiting for you at the
airport (this is not an especially good idea if you will be
taking a night flight, as your first journey to the villas
could be difficult in the dark and the car hire offices may
well be closed). If you were planning to have a car for,
let’s say, just part of your holiday, we would strongly
advise getting it to coincide with your departure date - that
way, you can relax and get to check in with plenty of time to
spare and just leave the car at the airport.
Whilst we endeavour to be as flexible with
our guests’ stay as possible, we must ask that you vacate your villa by noon on the day of your
departure so that the
housekeeper can get the property ready for the next
holidaymakers. If you do not fly off the island until late that
evening, speak with Nico and we will try to arrange for you to
leave your suitcases somewhere safe whilst you have that final
swim.
We would be grateful if you could arrange
to take a daytime flight to Corfu if possible – not only
will it be much easier for us to come and welcome you at the
airport but, for your own sakes, you will have a much less
stressful and wearying time of it if you do not have to travel
through the night.
If your arrival and departure are in the
middle of the night, some villa owners may ask for a small
additional fee for you to remain in the property until you
leave for the airport on the final day (i.e. if your stay is
going into an extra day). We will advise you on this further at
booking.
